Questions
What size should a x profile photo be?
400 by 400 pixels, saved as JPG/PNG, up to 2 MB. Anything larger is scaled down by the platform, usually with worse resampling than doing it yourself; anything smaller is stretched and looks soft. This page is preset to those numbers, so you can drop a file in and download the result. Spec last checked 2026-09-19.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Avatar Maker runs entirely inside your browser using the Canvas API. The file is read from your device, processed on your device, and the result is handed straight back to you. It never travels to a server, so there is nothing for us to store, log or leak.
Is it free, and is there a limit?
It is free with no account and no watermark. Because the work happens on your own hardware there is no per-image cost to us, so there is no quota. The only real limit is your device's memory: images beyond roughly 40 megapixels are refused rather than crashing the tab.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. The tools work in any current mobile browser, and the result downloads to your camera roll or Files app like any other download. Very large images are slower on a phone than on a laptop because the processing is genuinely happening on the device.
